Graham Beck is an applied physicist working on the Semiconductor Tracker (SCT) of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. At the design stage he studied the high voltage stability of silicon sensors, crucial to their surviving the unprecedented radiation damage expected at the LHC. He later led the QA of SCT modules at QMUL, and is currently studying thermal management solutions for the proposed high luminosity upgrade. He joined the QMUL group in 1991, to develop the upgrade of the OPAL silicon microvertex detector. Previously he was involved in the design and construction of drift chambers for the H1 experiment at HERA and was extensively involved in the NA1/ NA7 experiments at the CERN SPS.
