Tactile Sensors for Physiotherapy
Tactile sensors are ubiquitous and have significant potential for use in a wide range of applications, from medical devices and instruments to IoT/automation in industrial processes and consumer devices.
Within the Centre for Advanced Robotics, researchers are developing new tactile sensors for medical equipment to be deployed in healthcare settings where safety and precision application of pressure closer to human touch are critical requirements. In collaboration with AiTreat Robotics Ltd in Singapore, Dr Ketao Zhang is leading activities in developing advanced flexible tactile sensors for the emerging sector of robot-assisted physiotherapy.
