Predicting pollution from traffic patterns - SAPIENS
SAPIENS - Smart Air Pollution Information Enabling New Solutions
Air pollution is a chronic problem in large cities worldwide and vehicular traffic has been identified as a major contributor to poor air quality. The SAPIENS project studies traffic patterns and connects them to pollution measurements in the case of Mexico City. The relationships between traffic intensity and air quality are analysed, studied, and modelled in order to provide local and dynamic air quality forecasts.
