Advanced Materials and Structures for Future Transport

Engineers within the Centre for Intelligent Transport are working in the following areas related to development of advanced materials and structure for transport:

• Development of novel characterisation methods and robust and efficient models for analysing the microstructures, deformation and failure mechanisms of composites at multiple length scales,
• Development of a new generation of multifunctional composites for energy-storage,
• Design and mechanics of multifunctional, lightweight additively manufactured structures.
